Rightsizing into a Smaller Space

This client was moving into a smaller home—but one that would support a more spacious and intentional lifestyle. Downsizing to a space less than half the size of her current house, while hoping to use much of the same furniture, presented a fun and exciting challenge.

We were intentional about ensuring the new space felt thoughtfully designed and appropriately furnished. We began by carefully reviewing the layout of the new home and measuring every existing piece of furniture to determine what would make the move. With an initial plan in place, we also identified which items needed to be replaced and began sourcing smaller-scale furniture and rugs to suit the space.

To bring her vision to life, we created Pinterest boards for inspiration and used ChatGPT to generate mood boards and identify ideal furniture pieces.

Before moving day, we visited the new home and used the blue tape method to map out the furniture layout—providing a hands-on, visual guide. The result: a beautifully planned, styled, and personalized home, perfectly suited to support her next chapter.

The larger pieces of furniture no longer needed, utilized our reselling services and were sold through Facebook marketplace.
